Prepare Your Stories

This is an opportunity for professionals, Fulton student organizations and Fulton Difference program members to share their college experiences, career history and advice with future innovators.

Students will ask questions about various professions and their chosen major.

Think about your college days, internships and early career roles. Be ready to discuss your experiences and share what you wish you knew then.

How would you answer these questions:

Why did you pick your major rather than one that is similar or different?
What student organizations did you join, why and what did you do?
If you did an internship, what was it like? What would you have done differently?
What software and technical knowledge do you use and why?
What are some projects you have worked on as an intern, new grad or now?
Download the Career Exploration Night Workbook for Fall 2022 to review other questions.

Day of Agenda

Event information

Most events will begin with a moderated panel, immediately followed by the larger mixer event.

ASU Alumni Panels

Panelists will be on screen. The panel will be recorded. You will be required to sign a release allowing us to rebroadcast the panel presentation.

ASU alumni are invited to apply to be on a 3-4 person moderated panel. If selected, you will receive detailed instructions. Panelists will be briefly introduced. The moderator will ask an initial questions, most of which will be shared with you in advance, so you can prepare. The moderator will use prompts such as “this question is for everyone,” then cue the first person by name to respond. Students can ask questions via the platform’s Q&A button. The moderator will read the question to the panel and keep the conversation going or may need to cut responses short. When the panel has come to the end of the allotted time, the moderator will thank the panel. Panelists will receive a unique link. Panelists will join approximately 30 minutes before the panel starts to ensure all equipment works. Panelists are welcome to join the second half of the evening- the mixer.

All Professionals Mixers

Open to professionals who earned degrees correlating to our engineering, computer science, aviation and other majors, not necessarily from ASU. Also open to ASU FSE student orgs.

Professionals, student organization leaders and first year students will be on screen during the event. You will be required to sign a release acknowledging you will be broadcast live.

Meet students in groups or individually as they come into your virtual room throughout the duration of the mixer. Share your screen to show projects, websites and other items of interest. Students will be on camera or off camera. They may use a microphone or use the platform’s text chat feature.
